Close the Gap is honored to have received a number of awards that recognize our efforts to reduce disparities in cardiovascular care and increase awareness of heart disease risk factors in underserved patient populations.
2012 Charles R. Drew Award
Close the Gap received the Charles R. Drew Award for Outstanding Cardiovascular Research and Health Disparities, presented by the National Minority Quality Forum and the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust. The award recognized Close the Gap’s meritorious work in the area of cardiovascular health in the minority community.
2012 WomenHeart Wenger Award
Boston Scientific was honored to receive the 2012 WomenHeart Wenger Award for Excellence in Corporate Leadership. WomenHeart presented the award to Boston Scientific to recognize our efforts to address disparities in cardiovascular care for underserved patient populations through the “innovative and extraordinary Close the Gap program.”

2012 Community Action Partner Award
The Association of Black Cardiologists honored Close the Gap with its Community Action Partner Award. The award recognized our impactful contributions aimed at improving heart health in communities.
Program Reach & Impact
Through our program materials and community outreach, Close the Gap has made a significant impact on communities across the United States. We've reached over 1 million people with educational messages through hundreds of activities since the program began in 2006.
